"I Quit." Did I just say that?
You read that right.... I did it. I said those two words. I quit! I quit, I quit, I quit!
I am DONE with my day job in TV News! Well technically I have until Aug 5th...
Boise Wedding Productions is NOW a FULL TIME BUSINESS!!!
I started Boise Wedding Productions about 5 years ago. It was a way for me to continue to grow and learn and push myself when I was not working as a photojournalist here in Boise. It was also a way for our family to make our ends meet. Lets be honest... the news business is amazing, but the pay is not.
It is time that I hang up my news hat, shoot for the stars!
I worked at KIVI Ch 6 from 2008 until 2010. Then I moved over to KTVB Ch 7 in 2010 and that is where I really mastered my craft of storytelling. In April of 2014 we found out we were pregnant again. The shift I had at Ch 7 was NOT going to work once our new little girl arrived, so I decided to head back to Ch6 to give it one more shot! I really didn't know I would love the art of visual storytelling until it was thrown at me with my news job. Let me tell you... I LOVE IT!
I am SO thankful to everyone in the news business that has helped me along the way. I have had the opportunity to try new experiences that I would NEVER had a chance of doing if I hadn't been in news. Flying in a black hawk, hot air ballon, FLYING a stunt plane, going to football bowl games, being on the front line of breaking news... the list goes on and on.
Being able to take someones story and give it life so others can hear, enjoy, and even help the person I am creating a story for.... I will miss that part the most.
FAMILY.
Family is why I am writing this today. My family is the most important thing to me. My two little ones are only going to be little ONCE... so now is the time to experience that. I will be working on Boise Wedding Productions and it's parent company Mr. PM Productions FULL TIME. This will allow me more time at home with my family but will also allow me to take the business FULL TIME and see what I can do with it!
LETS DO THIS!
